Description
Duties and Responsibilities
· This is a SECOND shift position Monday through Friday 3 pm to 11 pm with call ins for snow removal. Spring/Summer will change to a four-day week with 10 hr days.
· Mowing and trimming of grass on the airfield and maintaining landscaping around public areas of the airport.
· Operates all the various Authority owned equipment including snow removal equipment to remove snow and ice from all runways, taxiways, ramps and streets, heavy construction equipment, dump trucks, backhoes and front-end loaders.
· Performs construction projects and repairs runway and taxiway pavements, including the cleaning of pavement joints, and seals same with joint compound for all runways, taxiways and ramps. Repairs pavement painting and markings.
· Maintains streets, shoulders and parkways.
· Maintains airport owned buildings and grounds.
· Replaces light bulbs and maintains light fixtures.
· Paints interior and exterior structures and performs general building maintenance.
· Performs jet bridge inspections, maintenance, and repair.
· Maintains equipment, tools and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
· Reports irregularities and abnormal conditions at the airport.
· Performs duties in accordance with the airport's safety rules and operating regulations and practices.
· Directs the work of employees assigned to assist and assists employees of equal or higher classification.
· Performs other duties as required.
· Possess a valid Indiana Commercial Driver's License, Class B or higher, or be able to obtain in 6 months.
Knowledge and Abilities
· Ability to perform assigned tasks independently involving proper use of airport equipment.
· Ability to properly handle the equipment used in the work.
· Ability to perform routine maintenance.
· Ability to properly use two-way radio equipment and safely operate equipment on the airfield.
· Knowledge of building material selection and application.
· Knowledge of building hardware and its maintenance.
Requirements
Experience and Education Requirements
High School or equivalent with at least three years of work experience in maintenance (i.e., equipment operation, building maintenance, construction, electrical systems maintenance); requires basic computer operations experience, including email (Microsoft products desirable).
Special Requirements
- Pass a pre-hire drug screen and random alcohol and drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain a FWACAA-issued AOA Driving Privileges
- Pass federal fingerprint based criminal history background check.
- Available for recall during non-duty hours for emergencies, snow removal or other required duties.
- Possess a valid Indiana Commercial Driver's License, Class B or higher, or be able to obtain in 6 months.
