Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Hyderabad. The Formulation Scientist will be responsible for designing and developing formulations for nasal and inhalation drug delivery. The role involves conducting experimental trials, overseeing research and development activities, contributing to technology transfer processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The scientist will also document findings, analyze data, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead formulation strategy for nasal and inhalation drug delivery systems
• Design and optimize formulations (solution/suspension, excipients, pH, viscosity, stability)
• Collaborate on device selection (pump systems, container-closure)
• Develop QTPP, CQA, and risk assessment frameworks
• Plan and evaluate prototype batches, compatibility, and performance studies
• Prepare regulatory-style documentation and development reports
• Work cross-functionally with analytical, regulatory, quality, and clinical teams
• Apply QbD and DoE approaches for formulation optimization
Qualifications
- Experience: 2–5 years in respiratory formulation development
- Proficiency in Laboratory Skills and Formulation techniques
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D) and conducting Research activities
- Expertise in Technology Transfer processes and regulatory adherence
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborative working
- Knowledge of nasal and inhalation drug delivery systems is an advantage
• M.Pharm / MSc in Pharmaceutics, Drug Delivery, or related fields
• OR B.Pharm / M.Pharm with strong hands-on formulation experience
• PhD is a plus
Preferred Expertise:
• Nasal / inhalation / topical / liquid formulations
• Device-formulation integration
• Regulatory documentation and ICH guidelines
• Stability studies & microbiological considerations
