Job Description: Civil Finishing Foreman – High-Rise Residential Building
The Civil Finishing Foreman is responsible for supervising and executing all finishing works in a designated zone of a high?rise residential project. The role requires strong technical understanding, close coordination with site teams, adherence to quality standards, and ensuring timely delivery of finishing milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision of Finishing Activities
- Oversee day?to?day finishing activities such as plastering, blockwork, gypsum plastering, putty, painting, tiling, granite, flooring, false ceiling, waterproofing, door/window installation, and other architectural finishes.
- Ensure all finishing works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Verify workmanship quality and rectify defects immediately.
- Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and skilled workers to ensure smooth and timely execution of finishing works.
- Plan daily work fronts and ensure required materials, tools, and workforce are available in advance.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and façade teams to ensure seamless progress without rework.
- Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure all finishing activities comply with quality benchmarks and project standards.
- Inspect materials delivered to site and reject non?compliant items.
- Maintain safe working conditions, monitor workers’ adherence to safety procedures, and eliminate unsafe practices.
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Track daily progress of finishing works and update site engineer/section in?charge regularly.
- Identify delays, material shortages, or resource constraints and escalate for resolution.
- Maintain daily progress sheets, checklists, and snag/rectification logs.
- Productivity & Resource Management
- Monitor labor productivity and ensure optimum utilization of manpower and materials.
- Reduce wastage of finishing materials through proper supervision and controlled use.
- Guide and train workers to maintain good workmanship and efficiency.
- Client & Consultant Interaction
- Support site engineers during client/consultant inspections.
- Address comments, close snags, and ensure finishing quality meets client expectations.
- Maintain professional communication with stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills
- ITI / Diploma in Civil Engineering (preferred).
- 3–8 years of experience in civil finishing works, preferably in high?rise residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of finishing materials, installation methods, and quality standards.
- Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
- Good leadership, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
