We are seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Developmental Play & Social Skills Specialist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about child development, play-based learning, and fostering social-emotional growth in young children.
The specialist will design and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate programs including mommy-and-me classes, sensory play groups, social skills groups, and themed birthday parties. This individual will play a key role in building a welcoming, inclusive, and enriching environment for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and facilitate:
- Mommy-and-me classes
- Sensory play groups
- Social skills groups for various age ranges
- Structured and themed birthday party experiences
- Develop age-appropriate, play-based curricula that support social, emotional, and developmental milestones
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and caregivers
- Manage materials, supplies, and setup/cleanup for all activities and events
- Monitor group dynamics and support positive peer interactions
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding child engagement and progress
- Collaborate with clinical or administrative staff as needed
- Maintain organization of program schedules, materials, and attendance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or related field):
- Child Development
- Early Childhood Education
- Psychology
- Experience working with young children (ages [insert range, e.g., 0–8]) in group settings
- Strong understanding of developmental milestones and play-based learning
- Experience with sensory play and/or social skills development preferred
- Creative, organized, and self-motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage groups of children and engage caregivers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading parent-child classes or group programs
- Background in sensory integration or social-emotional learning
- Experience planning events or themed activities (e.g., birthday parties)
