Role Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and execution-focused Food Sector Expert to provide technical guidance and hands-on support to women-led food enterprises. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in food packaging standards, regulatory compliance, and certifi cation processes.
This role requires fi eld engagement, coordination with stakeholders, documentation support, and consistent follow-through to ensure entrepreneurs meet quality and market readiness standards.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide technical guidance on food packaging standards and material selection
● Support entrepreneurs in obtaining necessary certifi cations and registrations (e.g., FSSAI registration, food safety compliance, labeling norms, etc.)
● Guide on packaging design compliance including ingredient listing, nutritional information, expiry details, and branding alignment
● Conduct on-ground visits to assess production practices and recommend improvements
● Assist in improving product quality, shelf life, and standardization
● Coordinate with packaging vendors, certifi cation bodies, and relevant authorities
● Support documentation, compliance tracking, and reporting
● Facilitate market linkage readiness through quality and compliance enhancement
● Conduct awareness sessions and training workshops for women entrepreneurs
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Processing, or related fi eld
2. Minimum 2–5 years of experience in food processing, packaging, or food compliance
3. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and certifi cation processes (FSSAI, labeling norms, hygiene standards, etc.)
4. Experience working with MSMEs or small-scale food businesses preferred
5. Comfortable with fi eld travel and on-ground execution
6. Strong coordination and documentation skills
7. Passion for working in the women entrepreneurship / social impact ecosystem
