About The Role
As a Tax Manager at Fondo, you will provide comprehensive federal and state tax compliance and consulting services to various early-stage and high-growth startups in different industries. You will be a liaison between a portfolio of clients and outside agencies. You will partner closely with the Fondo Accounting and Operations teams in a remote, dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment to meet client deliverables. Responsibilities
- Data input into ProConnect Tax Software and conduct international tax return reviews
- Assist with various state and federal filing deadlines
- Maintain and manage the filing system in cloud-based software
- Maintain and update client projects in our proprietary app
- Continually monitor client Slack channels for support needs
- Research and address problems or questions from clients
- Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise
- Review and occasionally support the preparation of financial statements
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to implement strategic initiatives
- Participate in additional projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred)
- CPA certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in tax accounting, with strong knowledge of general and tax accounting
- Extensive experience with business and individual tax returns (federal and state), particularly C-Corps
- Proficient in ProConnect, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing financials for multiple clients
- Working knowledge of international tax
- Strong written communication skills for process documentation & procedure manuals
- Adaptable & strategic, excels in ambiguity, creatively solves problems, prioritizes multiple deadlines
- Proficient in computer information systems to present financial information, with the ability to prepare statistical reports and analyze financial reports
- Skilled in research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations
