Job Description
Job Summary
The Flock Health Technician serves as an extension of the Veterinary Services team, overseeing the health and welfare of flocks managed by Versova Management.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinate with compliance teams to manage and implement disease surveillance programs
Summarize and interpret laboratory results for disease and titer surveillance
Assist in implementing new vaccination protocols and communicate during vaccine shortages
Conduct routine site visits to evaluate bird health and biosecurity practices
Organize and develop educational sessions for staff (e.g., necropsy, euthanasia, sample collection)
Seek process improvements and expand use of technologies for disease surveillance testing
Collaborate with compliance, laboratory, and operations teams to improve flock management
Respond to occasional requests outside normal working hours
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Effective communication with employees, customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies
Knowledge of poultry industry and relevant regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments
Ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize tasks
Willingness to work irregular hours when needed
Capable of working in various climate conditions and physical environments
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Work Environment
This role combines office work with travel 50% of the time to live production locations. Periodic overnight travel required for facility visits and industry events.
