About the role

The Technology Product Manager is responsible for the overall strategy, development, and execution of the product. This role involves owning and developing the product roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the business goals, and working with the development team to implement the plan effectively. The Technology Product Manager translates business strategy into actionable product strategies, communicates these strategies to development teams, and oversees the product's progress throughout the development phase. Key Competencies Prioritization and Roadmap Process: The Technology Product Manager must be able to explain why certain features or goals are prioritized over others. This involves aligning key stakeholders such as sales, marketing, and engineering and ensuring that everyone understands why decisions are being made in the way they are. Clear communication of how and why priorities shift is crucial for success. Saying "No" with Explanation: There will be instances when it is necessary to decline requests from executives, engineers, or sales teams for additional features or changes to the roadmap. The Technology Product Manager needs to be able to effectively articulate the reasoning behind such decisions, backed by strategic insights, user data, or other relevant evidence. Balancing the Needs of Customers and Stakeholders: This role requires the ability to balance competing objectives, manage resource constraints, and make decisions that weigh customer needs against business goals and stakeholder demands. Prioritization will always be a challenge, but the ability to manage these factors while keeping the product vision intact is key. Evidence-based Decision Making: A successful Technology Product Manager uses evidence from user data, customer feedback, and analytics to inform decisions. Making decisions based on data rather than opinion leads to more credible arguments and stronger alignment with stakeholders, ensuring that the product roadmap is built on solid foundations. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in product development, specifically within the Travel/TMC industry. Strong knowledge of the travel industry is required. Experience in expense management is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in engineering or project management. Excellent networking and motivational skills. A proven track record of managing products through their entire lifecycle, from inception to launch. Ability to communicate product recommendations effectively to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity.
