Role Description The Fleet Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day fleet operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and coordinating vehicles and equipment to support construction activities. The Fleet Supervisor will monitor vehicle utilization, track fuel consumption, and ensure timely availability of trucks, machinery, and support vehicles for project sites. The role includes supervising drivers and support staff, assigning routes, monitoring performance, and enforcing safety and company policies. The Fleet Supervisor will coordinate routine and preventive maintenance, manage service records, and work with vendors and workshops to minimize downtime. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, preparing basic fleet reports, and communicating regularly with project managers and site supervisors to align fleet resources with project needs.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills, with experience leading drivers or operational staff and coordinating daily work assignments.
- Hands-on experience in fleet operations and fleet management, including dispatch, routing, and utilization tracking.
- Effective communication skills to interact with drivers, mechanics, site teams, and management.
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance practices, with the ability to coordinate inspections and repairs.
- Familiarity with basic safety regulations and compliance related to vehicles, drivers, and construction sites.
- Ability to maintain records, use spreadsheets or fleet management tools, and prepare simple operational reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in construction or logistics environments is preferred; a diploma or degree in logistics, operations, or a related field is an advantage.
