CTC: ₹25,000 – ₹30,000 per month based on experience and capability.
Fleet Size: Currently 120 Cars and 50 Buses.
Role Overview
The Fleet Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted, disciplined and punctual fleet deployment across staff buses and LMVs serving contractual and retail clients.
This is a field-driven operational leadership role and not a mere desk-based coordination position. The role requires proactive and pragmatic monitoring of fleet movement, real-time intervention and continuous operational oversight across all deployments.
The position involves handling late-night operational calls, early morning deployment checks and immediate breakdown coordination when required. Continuous updates to management and client representatives through official communication channels including WhatsApp groups are mandatory during operational incidents, delays, breakdowns, or corrective actions.
The selected candidate will also contribute to strengthening the regional vendor ecosystem and supporting the company’s long-term vision of becoming a leading fleet aggregator.
Experience Requirement
Mandatory:
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport or fleet operations.
· Hands-on experience managing cars and/or buses.
· Strong driver supervision and shift management exposure.
Highly Desirable:
· Experience in employee transport or industrial staff transport companies.
· Exposure to GPS-based monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Time Deployment and Shift Monitoring
· Ensure 100 percent on-time deployment of all vehicles as per scheduled reporting and departure times.
· Log in to the GPS system before every shift including early morning, afternoon and night cycles. Monitor vehicles 10 to 15 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.
· Immediately contact drivers if vehicles are not active or positioned correctly before departure.
· Escalate and resolve potential delays before service disruption occurs.
· Maintain ≥ 99.5 percent on-time deployment performance across shifts.
2. Driver Leadership, Conduct and Behavioral Development
· Handle drivers firmly yet tactfully recognizing that they are the face of the company.
· Demonstrate proven ability to get things done through mentoring, motivating encouraging, challenging, correcting and disciplining when required.
· Maintain authority while building trust and respect within the driver workforce.
· Display calmness, patience and emotional stability even in situations involving tough driver communication.
· Address behavioral gaps constructively and progressively improve driver communication standards.
· Instill professionalism discipline and accountability across the fleet.
· Ensure continuous refinement in driver conduct, presentation and client interaction standards.
· Enable drivers to become better and more responsible professionals through consistent guidance and supervision.
3. Fleet Upkeep, Preventive Culture and Maintenance Coordination
· Work closely with Head of Maintenance to ensure seamless coordination between deployment and technical readiness.
· Introduce and enforce a strong pre-deployment culture ensuring vehicles report in tip-top operational condition before every shift.
· Ensure vehicles are clean internally and externally prior to client deployment.
· Train and guide drivers to perform daily DIY pre-deployment checks including lights, indicators, brakes, tyres, tools, horn, mirrors, cleanliness and basic fluid levels.
· Ensure any vehicle maintenance concern raised by the client is rectified within the committed timeline without exception.
4. GPS Monitoring and Device Compliance
· Ensure continuous active GPS visibility across the fleet.
· Immediately identify devices that are offline, inactive, or transmitting inaccurate data.
· Detect trip jumps, signal drops, incorrect routing, or delayed updates.
· Coordinate with GPS service provider team to rectify issues within defined turnaround time.
· Maintain ≥ 99.5 percent active and accurate GPS monitoring at all times.
5. Dashcam Monitoring and Driver Compliance
· Review live dashcam feed before shift commencement for equipped buses.
· Verify vehicle cleanliness and presentation standards.
· Ensure compulsory seatbelt usage across the entire fleet without exception.
· Prevent unauthorized passengers or unauthorized commuting activity.
· Initiate immediate corrective action in case of violations.
6. Safety Enforcement
· Enforce compulsory seatbelt usage across the fleet at all times.
· Enforce safety rules including no mobile phone usage while driving and no tobacco consumption on duty.
· Ensure compliance with safety gear requirements at industrial premises.
· Monitor mileage, vehicle upkeep and reporting discipline daily.
· Handle drivers tactfully while maintaining authority and accountability.
7. Regulatory and Statutory Liaison
· Maintain close liaison with RTO, traffic police and other statutory authorities.
· Ensure all permits, fitness, insurance, PUC and compliance documentation remain valid.
· Resolve challans and regulatory concerns without operational disruption.
· Maintain 100 percent statutory compliance across fleet.
8. Vendor Management and Ecosystem Development
· Maintain structured database of transport vendors including fleet size, compliance, pricing and reliability metrics.
· Rank vendors based on reliability, safety compliance, responsiveness, pricing and support quality.
· Monitor vendor deployment performance and documentation compliance.
· Support management in building a scalable and reliable vendor network aligned with company growth plans.
9. Client Communication and Coordination
- Act as the first point of contact for all client communication related to operations and deployment.
- Maintain exceptional client handling standards through clear, courteous and proactive communication.
- Closely coordinate with client HR and Admin departments regarding deployment schedules, reporting status, delays, grievances and operational requirements.
- Provide timely updates to clients regarding bookings, vehicle allocation, deployment status and GPS tracking visibility.
- Maintain continuous communication during operational disruptions, delays, breakdowns or corrective actions until resolution.
- Handle client grievances tactfully and ensure timely resolution while safeguarding company interests.
- Maintain strong working relationships with contractual and retail clients to ensure high service reliability and client retention.

· High accountability and ability to take independent decisions.
· Field mobility within Gandhidham, Anjar, Adipur, Kandla, KASEZ, Bhimasar & wider Kutch region.

Evaluation Period
This role will be subject to a three-month evaluation period. Confirmation will be based on punctual deployment performance, GPS compliance, driver discipline, regulatory adherence, vendor performance improvement and measurable operational reliability.
