Role Description The Flame Retardant Research and Development Professional will lead and support the development, optimization, and testing of flame retardant formulations for rubber, plastics, and related applications. This full-time, on-site position is based in Kanpur and involves planning and conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing results, and translating findings into scalable manufacturing processes. The role includes close collaboration with production, quality, and sales teams to align product performance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. The professional will prepare technical documentation, maintain accurate lab records, and contribute to continuous improvement of existing flame retardant product lines. Participation in customer technical support, troubleshooting, and application development projects will be an important part of the day-to-day responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in polymer science, materials science, or chemical engineering, with knowledge of flame retardant chemistries and mechanisms.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory experimentation, formulation development, and performance testing for rubber and plastics applications.
- Ability to interpret analytical data, prepare technical reports, and document experimental procedures with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to flame retardants and additives (e.g., REACH, RoHS, FDA) is highly beneficial.
- Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams in production, quality assurance, and technical sales.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and project management abilities to drive R&D initiatives from concept to commercialization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in documentation and presentation of technical information.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience in industrial R&D, particularly in additives, stabilizers, or flame retardant systems, is an advantage.
