Fixed Assets SME – SAP S/4HANA
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fixed Assets Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide specialist, hands-on expertise supporting Fixed Assets processes within a global SAP S/4HANA environment. This is a consultant role focused on solution stability, compliance, and expert advisory support across regions and transformation initiatives.
The Fixed assets SME will work closely with GL Solutions, IT, Controllership, and regional finance teams, acting as the primary escalation point for complex Fixed Assets topics.

Scope of Services / Key Responsibilities
Fixed Assets Expertise
- Act as Fixed Assets SME for SAP S/4HANA
- Provide expert support across:
- Capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, impairments
- Asset lifecycle management and CIP
- Ensure accurate integration between Fixed Assets and General Ledger
SAP Design & Issue Resolution
- Provide functional expertise for:
- Solution design discussions
- Enhancements, defect analysis, and remediation
- Support IT and business teams with:
- Impact assessments
- Functional specifications and testing support (UAT, regression)
Compliance & Controls Support
- Support Fixed Assets processes in line with:
- SOX requirements
- Internal control frameworks
- Applicable accounting standards (US GAAP / Local GAAP)
- Assist with audit requests, walkthroughs, and issue remediation
Project & Change Support
- Provide SME support for:
- SAP S/4HANA implementations or migrations
- Legal entity changes, reorganizations, and regional rollouts
- Identify risks and propose mitigation actions related to Fixed Assets
Advisory & Knowledge Support
- Act as escalation point for complex or non‑standard Fixed Assets issues
- Provide consulting support and guidance to regional finance teams
- Support documentation, knowledge transfer, and best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Fixed Assets accounting
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Fixed Assets
- Solid understanding of:
- Fixed Assets accounting principles
- Integration with GL, AP, and CO
- Experience working in large, global, multi‑entity environments
- Proven ability to operate independently in a contractor / advisory role
Preferred Experience
- Prior involvement in:
- SAP transformations or S/4 migrations
- SOX‑controlled environments
- Experience supporting global finance teams across regions
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Engagement Characteristics
- Individual contributor role (no people management)
- Works under direction of GL & Fixed Assets Solutions leadership
- Focused on delivery, expertise, and advisory support
