Senior Software Engineer - Core Databases Job Description: As a Senior Software Engineer on the Core Databases team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the core database systems that power Fivetran's data integration platform. You will work closely with other engineers and teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database infrastructure. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain highly available and scalable database systems - Optimize database queries and indexes to improve performance - Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies - Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems - Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production issues - Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for database management Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience in database engineering or administration - Expertise in SQL and relational database concepts - Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server - Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques - Familiarity with cloud-based database services like AWS RDS or GCP CloudSQL - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment - Experience with DevOps tools and practices is a plus
