Role Description The Fitter will work full time on-site in Dhar, assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components and assemblies used in foundry and casting operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting engineering drawings, fitting and aligning parts to precise tolerances, and performing routine inspections of machinery and equipment. The role involves using hand tools and power tools, conducting preventive maintenance, and promptly addressing mechanical issues to minimise downtime. The Fitter will collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to support smooth operations, adhere to safety standards, and ensure equipment is operating efficiently. Accurate documentation of work performed, reporting defects or potential failures, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives are also key aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong mechanical fitting skills, including assembly, alignment, and adjustment of mechanical parts and equipment.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions for precise fitting work.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in using hand tools, measuring instruments (such as calipers, micrometers, gauges), and power tools safely and accurately.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with foundry or heavy manufacturing operations, preferably with experience in iron or metal casting processes.
- Candidates should possess a strong focus on workplace safety, including adherence to PPE requirements and safe operating procedures.
- Candidates should possess effective teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Fitter or Mechanical trade from a recognised institution is preferred; relevant industry experience will be highly valued.
- Candidates should possess the ability to work in shifts, maintain attention to detail under demanding conditions, and adapt to process and technology improvements.
