The Data Operations Group (Data Ops), part of Fitch's Chief Data Office (CDO) function, is seeking a Data Analyst – Migration Project to join its team. This is a 12 months contract role, based out of Mumbai office. This role is expected to work from 10 am to 6:30 pm Monday to Friday.
Data Analysts are responsible for the collection, manipulation and management of our economic timeseries data, as well as helping to develop new methodologies, content sets and products, and developing deep subject matter expertise to support internal and external users of the data. This role will support the transformation of our data infrastructure, with a focus on automation of data collection and modernization of calculation methodologies within a new system. The role will interface with teams across Data Ops and the wider CDO, and will sit alongside and support our market-leading research team spanning offices in London, New York, Singapore, and Pretoria.

We'll Count on You To:
Efficiently gather, manipulate and analyse time-series data, and develop expertise on the sources and methodologies behind the numbers
Help migrate data, metadata and calculation methodologies from our legacy data infrastructure to a new platform built around python, APIs and other technologies.
Set up and run forecast models and review model output, while constantly seeking ways to further improve our models and methodologies
Collaborate with research analysts to ensure accurate and timely data in our products, and use the expertise you acquire to develop new content sets and products
What You Need to Have:
Undergraduate degree in computer science, statistics, economics or similar
At least 3 years of academic or professional experience working with macroeconomic or timeseries data
Proficiency in python, particularly experience with web-scraping, APIs or data manipulation
Proficiency in Excel including commonly used formulas and techniques
What Would Make You Stand Out:
Exposure to economic forecasting and understanding of basic methodologies
Experience applying specific time-series forecasting methodologies
Understanding of data governance principles and workflow management
Strong communication and organizational skills
A positive attitude and enthusiasm for problem solving
Working knowledge of Decisions Application
