Postgresql Cloud DBA

Role: PostgreSQL Cloud DBA
Responsibilities:
 Cloud migration and hands on experience on AWS RDS & Aurora
 All aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching,
migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery.
 capable of tuning configurations to optimize performance as per required workload.
 Change management including maintenance of multiple development, test, QA, and production
environments. Responsible for deploying approved changes to production.
 on-call support, including driving Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
 Database optimization including performance tuning, query optimization and supportability.
 Implementation and ongoing support of high availability architecture not limited to Active/Active
and Active/Passive Clusters
 Closely work with worldwide teams and contribute with best practices.
 Management of Barman backup environment
Requirements:
 Must have overall 10+ years DBA working experience with PostgreSQL and at least 4 years of cloud
 Experience required with PostgreSQL Server on a Linux / Unix platform hosted on AWS Platform
 Experience with the infrastructure design, installation, development, maintenance, patching and
enhancement of physical PostgreSQL RDBMS to support agile development teams and mission
critical production system.
 Demonstrable expertise with Migration to cloud, RDS & Aurora in conjunction with performance
tuning, replication, and data warehousing. PostgreSQL Index Management
 Experience with Data modelling tools
 Experience Managing/Configuring Barman environments.
 Schema handling. Database user roles and Security related permission.
 Experience with developing stored procedures/queries/triggers/views etc... using various SQL
scripting languages.
 Postgres database server configuration – capable of tuning configurations to optimize
performance as per required workload.
 Be able to diagnose in real time any bottlenecks, database servers resource utilization that are
challenged, etc.
 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
