Overview
The Nurse Supervisor provides leadership, clinical oversight,
direction, monitoring and training for all nursing and nursing related
operations for the facility during your scheduled shift including:
clinical management of residents, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance
with state and federal regulations, quality improvement and outcomes, policy
and procedure enforcement, and achieving operating plan goals and nursing
personnel (retention/training/supervision).
Essential Job Functions- Ensure all nursing staff understand and
follow their respective job descriptions.
- Ensure that nursing practice complies
with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Ensure sufficient numbers of licensed and
certified staff are available each shift to meet regulatory requirements and
provide appropriate care to residents.
- Complete routine clinical rounds each day to
ensure all staff are performing work assignments in accordance with acceptable
standards.
- Promote, establish, and maintain customer
relationships with residents, families, staff, community, and other
professionals.
- Review complaints and concerns made by
families, residents and staff, communicate these concerns including follow up
with the managers, or Director of Nursing, or Administrator as appropriate.
- Ensure policies and procedures regarding
communicable diseases, infection control, and isolation procedures as well as
other systems pertinent to nursing are followed and maintained.
- Implement policies and procedures in
collaboration with the Managers, Director of Nursing and Administrator.
- Provide support for staff competence
with electronic charting system (ECS).
- Make written and verbal
reports/recommendations to the Managers and Director of Nursing as necessary
concerning the operation of the nursing department.
- Assist and implement appropriate plans of
correction for safety concerns identified.
Ensure assessments, evaluations, and
charting is completed according to policy.
- Actively participate in Quality Assurance
and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program as directed by the managers or
Director of Nursing.
- Participate in routine and daily care
of residents to include but not limited to assistance with ADLs, meals, eating,
functional maintenance plans/nursing restorative plans, and activities.
- Complete and deliver assigned staff
performance evaluations as directed.

- Must have ability/competency, and willingness
to work as a direct care provider when necessary.
Education & Licensing Requirements:
- State
of Maine Nursing license as a Registered Nurse. (required)

Requirements:
- Ability to cope with mental and emotional
stress of the position and effectively communicate policies, procedures, and
reports to employees, residents, family members, visitors, and government
agencies as needed.
- Must function independently, as well as a
member of multiple teams, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability
to work effectively with residents, employees, regulators, the public, and
support agencies.
- Must be able to relate to and work with
ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within
the nursing community.
- Able to move at least 35lbs. without
assistance, able to bend, sit, and work in small areas and displays stamina to
assist residents where needed and in emergencies.
