Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Firmware Engineer. The Firmware Engineer will design, develop, and debug embedded software, work on hardware interfaces, and ensure the integration and performance of firmware with system hardware. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining high-quality standards in firmware solutions.
What you will do
- Design and develop embedded firmware for microcontroller-based systems
- Work on bare-metal and RTOS-based (FreeRTOS) development
- Develop low-level drivers for communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, RS232, RS485
- Build high-level APIs and application firmware for modules such as ADC, digital I/O, timers, and communication interfaces
- Implement solutions for data acquisition, remote configuration, and logging systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust firmware solutions
- Debug, test, and optimize firmware for performance and reliability
What you will bring
- 5–10+ years of experience in embedded firmware development
- Strong expertise in Embedded C programming and ARM Cortex
- Hands-on experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS) and bare-metal programming
- Deep understanding of microcontrollers and hardware interfacing
- Experience with driver development and communication protocols
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on end-to-end firmware lifecycle (design → development → testing → deployment)
