ABOUT US
While the world races to automate the future, we’re focused on preparing the generation that will lead it. At ADIIVA, we believe the most powerful time to shape a child’s mind is early on, when curiosity is boundless and values are just beginning to form. We offer parents a way to nurture critical thinking, resilience and independence from the very start.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re hiring a Firmware Engineer with strong experience in embedded systems, IoT devices, audio pipelines and wireless connectivity. You will build production-grade firmware for a IoT device that captures audio/image/video, processes it on-device, streams it to the cloud, and delivers output back to the user through the device.
You will be directly responsible for the reliability, performance and scalability of firmware running on our devices, from prototype boards to millions of devices in the field.
This role is ideal for someone who wants technical ownership, enjoys deep embedded work, and is excited to solve problems across firmware, audio, hardware and connectivity in a 0→1 environment.
This is a full-time opportunity based in Bengaluru (on-site).
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Firmware Development
- Write, review and maintain production-grade embedded C/C++ firmware
- Develop core functionality including boot flow, power management, audio, image, video, LEDs, buttons, peripherals and connectivity
- Debug system-level issues using serial logs, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and real hardware
- Optimize firmware for reliability, performance, latency and power consumption
- Own firmware builds, flashing, releases and OTA updates
Audio and Connectivity
- Build and debug the complete audio pipeline, from microphone capture to audio playback on the device
- Handle audio capture, PCM processing, encoding, buffering, framing, Wi-Fi transmission, decoding and playback
- Work with I2S/PDM, PCM, Opus and/or CELT/SILK
- Stream captured audio reliably to the cloud and receive processed audio back on the device
- Implement reliable audio playback through speakers
- Diagnose issues with noise, corrupted/dropped frames, latency, buffering, audio quality and connectivity
- Build reliable real-time, two-way audio communication between the device and cloud
Hardware and Embedded Systems
- Develop firmware for ESP32, STM32 and/or JL (JieLi) chipsets
- Work with interfaces including I2S, UART, SPI, I2C and GPIO
- Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring-up and hardware/firmware debugging
- Read and understand schematics and PCB layouts
- PCB design experience using KiCad, Altium or similar is a strong plus
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- 2+ years of hands-on embedded firmware development
- Strong embedded C/C++ skills
- Experience with ESP32, STM32 and/or JL (JieLi) chipsets
- Strong understanding of FreeRTOS and embedded systems
- Experience working with microphones and real-time digital audio pipelines.
- Experience with PCM, I2S/PDM, Opus and/or CELT/SILK
- Experience building audio, voice or speech-based IoT products
- Experience with audio DSP, noise reduction, VAD, AGC or echo cancellation
- Strong hardware debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read schematics and PCB layouts
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Passion for building safe, magical products for children and families
BONUS
- Experience with BLE + Wi-Fi provisioning
- Experience taking a product from prototype to mass production
- Hands-on PCB design experience
- Experience building products involving Speech-to-Text (STT)
