About the role
Your role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- National travel to conduct LiDAR data collections to meet operational or contractual requirements.
- Creating LiDAR collections plans for capture via ground or aerial surveys and ground control points.
- Capturing high-quality LiDAR imagery data for critical infrastructure and environmental safety information.
- Conducting pre-collect and post-collect operations, including but not limited to property and airspace coordination, geographic and environmental planning, equipment assembly and disassembly, operational coordination, and hazard mitigation.
- Be responsible for and execute the operation and maintenance of all supporting drones and LiDAR equipment, including but not limited to a company vehicle, various electronic hardware and software devices, associated equipment tools, and any/all peripheral devices.
- Perform daily maintenance/cleaning of equipment to ensure quality capture and operational sustainability.
- Perform daily quality checks and proper reporting of collected data to ensure accuracy and meet the client's needs.
- Serve as a point of contact with team members and project leaders regarding project progress, scheduling, deliverables, follow-up, and any other factors influencing operations or collect.
- Proper and timely delivery of collected data to appropriate team or company members.
- Adhere to all national and local safety laws/standards as outlined by, but not limited to, the FAA and DOT.
For this Role, You Will Need:
- Strong ability to learn and master multiple software packages, data collection platforms, and associated workflows.
- High attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and adaptie abilities.
- The ability to operate well in an assigned team or independently.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License (preferred).
Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel to multiple geographic locations while living out of hotels with per diem pay.
- Ability to drive and operate for extended periods of time unsupervised.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions.
- Working around industrial and evvironmental hazards.
- Must be able to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, protective eyewear, boots, safety vests, and 2-way radios.
- Perform physically demanding work involving frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, stopping, climbing up ladders, walking on uneven surfaces, and lifting and carrying equipment up to 60 lbs.
