Role Description The FinOps Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation solutions that optimize cloud financial operations and cost management for Sunovaa and its clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and integrating tools and scripts to collect and analyze cloud usage data, creating dashboards and alerts for spend monitoring, and collaborating with engineering, data, and finance teams to improve cost efficiency. The role involves defining and refining FinOps processes, implementing policies and guardrails, and supporting governance around cloud budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation. The engineer will troubleshoot automation workflows, enhance existing solutions, document standards and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of FinOps capabilities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in cloud platforms and FinOps tooling, such as AWS/Azure/GCP cost management services, cloud billing APIs, and FinOps frameworks for cost optimization and governance.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using languages like Python, Shell, or PowerShell, along with experience in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with data handling and analytics, including working with SQL/NoSQL databases, building reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker), and analyzing large datasets for cost and usage trends.
- Knowledge of DevOps and observability practices, including monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, to integrate performance and reliability metrics into financial optimization workflows.
- Background in financial analysis or cost engineering, with the ability to interpret cloud invoices, budgets, chargeback/showback models, and total cost of ownership for cloud workloads.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in Cloud (e.g., AWS/Azure/GCP), FinOps, or DevOps are an advantage.
