Job Description
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the implementation of new financial accounting software applications including planning and scheduling of tasks in coordination with IT Department.
- Has ownership of complex master data objects in ERP system. Five years or more of experience with SAP preferred.
- Designs processes to resolve issues, meet new requirements, or introduce efficiencies.
- Documents procedures within the Accounting Department.
- Analyzes business processes affecting the accounting function and plans process improvement projects in conjunction with other departments involved in the process. This includes flowcharting where necessary and making recommendations for improvement, including the elimination of redundancy and errors and streamlining of the closing cycle.
- Trains users of financial accounting systems. This includes users who make direct entries to the system(s) and indirect users who consume outputs.
- Participates in designing the creation of new accounting reports where needed in support of all financial system users.
- Supervises Financial Systems Analysts and other contributors both on and offshore in the accomplishment of above tasks within a matrix organization environment.
- Supports users by resolving problems both directly and through the ticket tracking system.
- Analyze business processes affecting accounting functions and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Design and implement process solutions to resolve operational issues, meet new business requirements, and improve efficiency.
- Manage the team responsible for maintaining vendor master data and ensuring data accuracy and governance.
- Possess strong knowledge of Record-to-Report (RTR) functions, including FI-GL, FI-AR, FI-AP, Asset Management, Intercompany process and Treasury.
- Demonstrate knowledge and/or experience with VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) processes implementation and improvement
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in finance/accounting or equivalent, plus a minimum of eight years experience in a financial accounting environment including implementation or upgrade of financial accounting systems. Certified Public Accountant or Masters in Business Administration preferred. Five years or more of experience with SAP preferred. Thorough working knowledge of financial applications, interfacing between applications, data structure and retrieval. Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects and work under deadlines. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
