About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Product Intern to help shape and improve our core finance and accounting software. In this role, you won't just be doing data entry; you will bridge the gap between finance and technology. You will hands-on test our software, analyse competitor products, and suggest features that make our platform better for users. You will work directly with our Development and Engineering teams to translate financial workflows into functional software improvements, gaining unique experience in the booming FinTech/SaaS space.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Testing & Quality Assurance: Rigorously test our finance and accounting software from an end-user perspective to identify bugs, calculation errors, or workflow inefficiencies.
- Competitor Benchmarking: Review and analyse market-leading financial tools to identify industry best practices and gaps in our own product.
- Feature Definition & Innovation: Ideate and define new product features or modules that can add value to our software, creating clear suggestions for the product roadmap.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the "subject matter expert" for finance, working closely with the development team to help them understand financial logic and troubleshoot system issues.
- Feedback Documentation: Document software glitches, usability issues, and user-experience (UX) improvements clearly for the engineering team to action.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
- Good Domain Knowledge: A solid grasp of accounting principles, financial workflows (AP/AR, reconciliations, taxation), and ledger management.
- Analytical & Critical Mindset: Ability to break down a software feature, think like an end-user, and identify where the system might fail or could be optimized.
- Tech-Savvy: High familiarity with accounting software and an eagerness to learn how the tech works "under the hood".
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to software developers.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for numerical accuracy and software inconsistencies.
