Client: A reputed trust-run school in South Delhi
Qualification: B. COM, CA (Inter) / ICWAI
Experience: 15+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably in schools, NGOs, trusts, or other service-oriented organisations
Role Overview
The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the finance, accounting, taxation, treasury, and compliance functions of the school efficiently and effectively. The role requires strong financial leadership, operational control, compliance oversight, and the ability to drive process improvements and digitisation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities1. Financial Management & Accounting Operations
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations and financial reporting
- Prepare and finalise Balance Sheets and coordinate statutory audits
- Generate MIS reports, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and trend analysis using ERP systems such as Tally
- Identify and implement automation and technology-driven process improvements
2. Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow planning, forecasting, and monitoring
- Ensure effective working capital management and fund utilisation
3. Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to trusts and educational institutions, including PF, ESI, gratuity, donations, and 80G matters
- Coordinate with consultants and internal teams to ensure timely filings and compliance adherence
- Stay updated on relevant financial, tax, and regulatory changes
4. Taxation
- Handle direct and indirect tax matters, including TDS, tax returns, assessments, and related compliances
- Coordinate with tax consultants and support assessment and appeal processes
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team
- Demonstrate strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial controls
- Proficiency in MS Office and financial ERP tools
- Exposure to legal and litigation-related financial matters will be an added advantage
- Experience working in educational institutions, trusts, or NGOs preferred
