About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations at our mattress manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and can bridge the gap between shop floor economics and boardroom strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including financial statements and management reports
• Oversee cost accounting, including standard costing for raw materials (foam, fabric, springs), WIP, and finished goods inventory
• Monitor and control manufacturing overhead, labour costs, and plant utilisation rates
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses with actionable insights for operations leadership
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and internal controls
• Partner with procurement and supply chain to analyse material costs and supplier pricing
• Lead and develop a small finance team (AP, AR, payroll)
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies

Requirements

• CA/CPA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• 6–10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory valuation (FIFO/weighted average)
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
