Name : Finance Controller
Location: Okhla Phase-III, Noida
Reporting to: Founder
Department: Business Finance
Role Objective
To drive data-backed decision-making through accurate MIS, financial planning, and deep business analysis, with a strong focus on channel profitability, contribution margins, marketing efficiency, and cash optimization in a D2C and marketplace-driven business.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
- MIS & Business Dashboard (Core Responsibility)
· Prepare and publish:
o Daily flash MIS (T+1) – revenue, orders, returns
o Weekly performance reports
o Monthly MIS (T+5) – complete P&L
· Develop and maintain business dashboards covering:
o Revenue (gross vs net)
o Channel mix (D2C vs marketplace)
o Returns %
o Marketing spend vs revenue
2 Channel-wise Profitability Analysis
· Build and track channel-level P&L:
o D2C vs Marketplace
· Analyze:
o Returns impact
o Commission and logistics cost
o Payment gateway charges
· Highlight loss-making channels, SKUs, and campaigns
· Recommend corrective actions
3 Contribution Margin Analysis
· Track:
o CM1 (post COGS)
o CM2 (post variable costs)
o CM3 (post marketing)
· Identify margin leakages and improvement opportunities
· Support pricing and discounting decisions
4 Marketing Efficiency & Unit economics
· Track and analyze:
o CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost)
o ROAS and Contribution ROAS
o CAC Payback Period
· Work with marketing team to improve efficiency
· Evaluate campaign performance and ROI
5 Budgeting & Forecasting
· Prepare:
o Annual operating plan (AOP)
o Monthly and quarterly forecasts
· Track budget vs actual performance
· Highlight variances and recommend course corrections
6 Cash Flow Plannig & Working capital Management
· Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
· Track:
o Cash inflows (D2C + marketplace settlements)
o Cash outflows (vendors, marketing, expenses)
· Monitor:
o Cash conversion cycle
o Working capital requirements
7 Busines Insight & Decision Support
· Provide actionable insights on:
o Returns reduction
o Pricing strategy
o Discount optimization
o Channel mix improvement
· Support strategic decisions with financial modeling
8 O2C (Orcer to Cash) Tracking
· Maintain and monitor O2C tracking sheet
· Track order lifecycle and revenue realization gaps
· Identify delays or leakages in the cycle
9 System & Data Enablement (Joint Responsibility)
· Work with Accounts team to ensure:
o Accurate data flow from Unicommerce to Tally
· Drive:
o MIS automation
o Data standardization
· Reduce dependency on manual reports
Cash & Working Capital
Cash & Working Capital· Cash flow visibility (weekly accuracy)
· Improvement in cash conversion cycle
· Monitoring of settlement cycles and liquidity
Insights & Business Impact
· Number of actionable insights delivered (monthly)
· Measurable impact of recommendations (margin improvement, cost savings)
System Efficiency
· % automation in MIS reporting
· Reduction in manual intervention
· Data consistency across systems
System & Tools
· Tally (for financial data validation)
· Unicommerce (OMS data)
· Excel / Google Sheets (advanced level mandatory)
· BI tools (optional but preferred)
Educational Qualification
Preferred:
· Chartered Accountant (CA)
· MBA (Finance)
Also consider:
· CA Inter with strong FP&A / business finance experience
Experiece Required
· 4–7 years of experience in:
o FP&A / Business Finance
o D2C / e-commerce / retail business (highly preferred)
Key Skills
· Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
· Deep understanding of unit economics (CAC, ROAS, contribution)
· Advanced Excel skills (mandatory)
· Business understanding and problem-solving mindset
· Ability to work with cross-functional teams
