Role Overview
This role involves working closely with financial datasets, regulatory disclosures, and market information to design frameworks that support analysis, benchmarking, and decision-making across diverse client needs. The position requires not only technical and analytical thinking but also the ability to interpret complex information, structure it in a usable form, and translate it into practical, client focused applications.
The role also provides opportunities to interact with clients, support their varied analytical use-cases, and contribute to business strategy, product evolution, and market positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze relevant datasets and corporate disclosures with a view to create an effective database that best supports various real-time use cases and analytical applications.
- Engage in development of products, interfaces and tools for application of company-level information in specific areas such as credit evaluation, stock research, valuations, transfer pricing, academic research and management education.
- Leverage expertise in ratio analysis, peer bench-marking, and other evaluation techniques to contribute to the development of refined ratios and algorithms to enable superior analysis.
- Develop written content that highlights the value of the solution, educates stakeholders on its applications, and showcases its impact across industries.
- Understand CMIE's financial and non-financial databases on companies and the delivery of this information to various segments of the financial markets.
- Engage with clients to demonstrate solution capabilities, address queries, and recommend efficient ways of leveraging data for specific requirements.
- Contribute to market and business expansion strategies by identifying new opportunities and supporting sales initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement by staying updated with regulatory changes, disclosure trends, and evolving client needs.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent)
- CFA Level I or higher completed
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of financial statements, regulatory disclosures, and corporate reporting practices.
- Ability to interpret financial and non-financial information in the context of varied analytical use-cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and interact with clients and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and visualisation will be a required skill in your work. You will be expected to produce elegant tabulations and charts to support your clear and lucid English essays.
- Numeracy, the ability to deal with numbers, conduct time-series analysis and basic principles of statistics is essential.
- Skills in R Programming, Advanced Excel, Python or similar system will be beneficial.
