About the Role
We're hiring a Financial Analyst to research and analyze mutual funds across equity, debt and hybrid categories — and turn that analysis into insights management can actually act on. This isn't a report-formatting role. If you can look at "the fund beat its benchmark by 3%" and tell us why - sector bets, stock selection, or just market beta - this role is built for you.
What You'll Do
- Track fund performance daily, monthly, quarterly and annually - NAV, AUM, flows, portfolio composition, sector/stock exposure, benchmark performance, expense ratio, and risk metrics
- Compare funds against peers and benchmarks; flag significant trends, changes and anomalies
- Investigate the why behind outperformance/underperformance - market moves, rate changes, sector rotation, manager/strategy shifts
- Build monthly/quarterly performance dashboards and management summaries
- Handle ad-hoc investment and market research requests
What You Bring
- 2+ years in financial analysis, investment research, mutual funds, asset management or equity research
- Working knowledge of CAGR, alpha, beta, Sharpe ratio, standard deviation, max drawdown, and risk-adjusted returns
- Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH, dashboards, data cleaning)
- Strong written communication — you can explain a complex fund story in three clear sentences
- Bachelor's in Finance/Economics/Commerce/Stats/Math; MBA Finance, CFA or FRM a plus
- Location: Remote or Pune or Pondicherry
- Job Type: Full-time
- Shift Timing: 4PM to 12am IST (as you will be working with a US based big Asset Management company)
