Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Team Lead to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for our U.S.-based entity while working from our India office. This role will ensure accurate financial reporting under U.S. GAAP, maintain compliance with U.S. regulatory requirements, and support financial planning activities including budgeting and forecasting.
The role requires close coordination with the U.S. leadership team while guiding junior accountants or outsourced accounting support where needed.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage budget preparation, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support business planning.
• Track financial performance against budgets and provide insights to leadership on variances and financial risks.
• Coordinate with external CPAs and auditors regarding IRS, IRC, and state-level tax compliance.
• Maintain and monitor internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and asset protection.
• Work closely with U.S. finance and leadership teams to support financial reporting and cash flow management.
• Assist during internal and external audits and maintain proper documentation for regulatory compliance.
• Guide junior accountants or outsourced accounting teams when required.
• Provide management with timely financial reports, insights, and recommendations.
• Stay updated on U.S. accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
Mandatory Qualifications
TA team should prioritize candidates with:
• CA / CPA / CMA or equivalent accounting qualification
• 7–10 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience working with U.S.-based companies or multinational organizations
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or other ERP systems
• Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Preferred / Added Advantage
• Experience with NetSuite ERP
• Exposure to manufacturing industry accounting
• Knowledge of U.S. corporate tax compliance and filings
• Experience handling multi-entity and multi-currency accounting environments
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Experience guiding small accounting teams or offshore support teams
