Job Description – Finance Operations & Accounting Lead

Role Overview
We are looking for a highly capable, detail-oriented, and proactive finance professional to join Beforest as a
Finance Operations & Accounting Lead.
This role goes significantly beyond traditional accounting. We are looking for someone who can think like an operator, build systems from the ground up, create structure in evolving environments, and bring strong financial discipline into a fast-growing, mission-driven organization.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across multiple entities and business verticals while managing accounting operations, compliance, reporting, finance processes, dashboards, controls, and internal coordination.
This is a high-ownership role requiring strong communication skills, operational maturity, initiative, and the ability to independently drive tasks to closure.
The role will work directly with the Finance Head and effectively operate as the second-in-command within the finance function. As such, we are looking for someone with maturity, tact, agility, strong judgment, and a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty when required.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across Beforest and associated entities
• Build and strengthen scalable accounting and finance processes
• Create SOPs and structured workflows for recurring finance activities
• Create meaningful financial reports and dashboards for leadership
• Analyze financial data and provide operational insights
• Improve financial visibility across projects and business verticals
• Manage GST, TDS, payroll, PF, Professional Tax, ROC, and statutory compliance
• Coordinate with external Chartered Accountants and auditors
• Handle multi-entity accounting and inter-company reconciliations
• Improve coordination between finance, operations, procurement, and sales teams
• Drive automation and process optimization using Zoho Books and related tools
• Demonstrate ownership and independently drive tasks to closure
Who You Are
• 4–7 years of experience in accounting, finance, audit, or finance operations roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Zoho Books and accounting workflows
• Experience creating dashboards, reports, and financial tracking systems
• Strong understanding of GST, TDS, payroll, PF, Professional Tax, and statutory compliance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable multitasking and handling operational complexity
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive workstreams
• Ability to improve broken or inefficient systems
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and evolving organizational structures
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred but not mandatory
