About the Role:
We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance Manager to lead financial planning, compliance, reporting, and operational finance processes. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in business finance, taxation, inventory reconciliation, and stakeholder reporting, preferably within a D2C/E-commerce environment.
Key Responsibility:
1. Business Finance & MIS
● Prepare and present weekly and monthly MIS reports highlighting key business KPIs such as Contribution Margin, Growth, Burn Rate, and profitability metrics.
● Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process and conduct monthly variance analysis (Actual vs Budget).
● Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure smooth business operations.
● Support founders and leadership teams with financial insights and decision-making.
2. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
● Manage direct tax compliances including Income Tax calculations, return filings, and Tax Audit coordination.
● Ensure timely and accurate GST compliance including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C filings and GST reconciliations with GSTR-2B.
● Maintain and track compliance calendars for TDS, PF, ESIC, and other statutory requirements to ensure zero penalties.
● Stay updated with changes in Indian tax laws and accounting standards.
3. Inventory Reconciliation & Operations
● Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams for periodic physical stock audits and inventory reconciliations with ERP/WMS records.
● Analyze COGS and identify inefficiencies or leakages across procurement, packaging, and supply chain operations.
● Reconcile RTOs, marketplace returns, and payout settlements across platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, E-commerce, and Quick Commerce channels.
4. Investor Reporting & Audit Management
● Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packs for founders and investors.
● Act as the primary point of contact for statutory and internal audits.
● Maintain organized financial records and data rooms for due diligence and future fundraising activities.
5. Team Management & Process Improvement
● Lead and mentor a team of finance executives/accountants.
● Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve accounting and reporting efficiency.
● Drive process improvements across finance and operational workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
● Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
● 2–4 years of post-qualification experience.
● Prior experience in D2C, E-commerce, or startup environments will be preferred.
● Strong understanding of AS/Ind-AS, Indian taxation, and statutory compliances.
● Hands-on experience with Tally Prime, ERP systems, and platforms such as Easyecom.
● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting.
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
● Excellent communication and presentation abilities with experience interacting with founders/investors.
