Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and rolling financial projections.
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. prior year) and present insights.
- Drive MIS reporting – monthly P&L, cost of production reports, working capital dashboards, and EBITDA tracking.
- Evaluate financial impact of capacity expansion, new product lines, and capital investments.
2. Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee product costing, conversion cost, and overhead allocation.
- Monitor steel melting, rolling mill, and finishing unit costs; identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Track power & fuel, consumables, labour cost per MT, yield losses, and scrap recovery.
- Implement and maintain standard costing systems and periodic cost audits.
3. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Ind AS.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, cost auditors, and internal auditors.
- Oversee GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other compliance requirements.
4. Treasury & Working Capital Management
- Monitor and manage working capital cycle – debtors, creditors, and inventory.
- Coordinate with banks for CC, WCDL, LC, and BG facilities.
- Ensure optimal cash flow management.
- Prepare CMA data, project reports, and FFR/QIS statements.
5. Project Finance & Capital Expenditure
- Support appraisal and monitoring of capex projects.
- Track project expenditure and capitalization compliance.
- Coordinate asset commissioning and depreciation schedules.
6. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
- Strengthen internal financial controls.
- Drive ERP utilization for finance and cost modules.
- Lead process automation initiatives.
- Participate in stock verification and asset physical verification.
Qualification & Experience
Educational Qualification: CA from ICAI preferred; MBA – Finance from a reputed institution.
- 8–12 years of post-qualification experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Minimum 4 years in steel, metals, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
- Exposure to cost accounting, plant finance, or manufacturing MIS.
- Experience handling bank credit facilities and working capital management.
- Prior team management experience preferred.
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost structure, and industry economics.
- Proficiency in ERP.
- Advanced MS Excel skills – financial modelling, pivot analysis, dashboards.
- Knowledge of Ind AS, Companies Act 2013, GST, and Income Tax Act.
- Familiarity with CMA data preparation, project appraisals, and bank documentation.
