The Role
We are looking for a Finance professional who will own the full financial operations function at HockeyCurve. This
is a high-ownership role. You will be the single accountable person for billing, collections, compliance, and
reporting across all our products and client relationships.
Given the nature of our business (platform subscriptions, SaaS billing, campaign-linked billing cycles, and multi-
client reconciliations), the ability to communicate with confidence and close follow-through is as important as
technical accounting competence.
What You Will Own
• End-to-end Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable: generating invoices, debit notes, credit notes, and ensuring accuracy across all billing cycles
• Client collections: proactive follow-up with clients and agency partners to ensure payments land on time; comfort in direct, confident conversations with senior stakeholders on the client and vendor side
• Reconciliations across clients, vendors, and platform transactions, with liaison with internal teams for any discrepancies
• Cash flow management: monitor inflows and outflows, flag risks early, and implement basic optimization strategies
• Payroll: full payroll processing including compliance under the Income Tax Act, Professional Tax, and EPF Act
• Financial reporting: prepare and present regular MIS, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports to internal leadership and, where relevant, to external stakeholders including investors, auditors, and platform partners
• Process improvement: identify gaps in current workflows and drive standardization ; we expect you to question what exists and propose better systems
• Subscription billing: managing recurring subscription billing cycles, renewal tracking, and subscription-linked reconciliations across our SaaS products
What We Are Looking For
Non-negotiable
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Commerce or Accounting (BCom or MCom)
• 2 to 6 years of hands-on experience in a finance or accounts role (not audit-only, not internship-only)
• Proficiency in Excel: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliation sheets
• Excellent written and spoken English. You will be communicating directly with clients, agency finance teams, and vendors. Confidence and clarity are essential and will be assessed during the interview process
• High attention to detail and the ability to hold multiple billing threads simultaneously without letting a single invoice, follow-up, or compliance deadline slip through Strongly preferred
• Experience at a digital advertising agency, adtech platform, media company, or technology startup.
Candidates from this background will be given strong preference as the learning curve on our business context is significantly shorter
• Familiarity with platform or SaaS billing models: subscription cycles, campaign-linked invoicing, or multi- client account management
• Working knowledge of Tally, Zoho Books, or any cloud accounting tool
• Comfort operating independently in a lean team with no large finance department around you
