Job Description – Finance Manager

Role Overview
The
Finance Manager will function as a strategic finance partner and virtual CFO to SMEs, corporates, and growth-stage businesses. The role encompasses end-to-end ownership of financial management, including accounting oversight, MIS & analytics, statutory compliance, and debt advisory execution.
The incumbent will collaborate closely with promoters, internal advisory teams, and external stakeholders such as banks, NBFCs, AIFs, auditors, and consultants to ensure financial discipline, regulatory compliance, and successful capital-raising outcomes.
Key Responsibilities - Accounting, Financial Control & Governance
- Oversee end-to-end maintenance of books of accounts (Tally/ERP systems)
- Review accounting entries, reconciliations, and month-end/quarter-end closures
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Maintain robust documentation, controls, and audit trails
- Support statutory, internal, and tax audits
- Ensure compliance with ROC requirements:
- Annual filings (AOC-4, MGT-7 / MGT-7A)
- Board resolutions and statutory documentation
- Taxation & Statutory Compliance
GST Compliance
- Review GST data and reconciliations with books
- Oversee filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and reconciliation with GSTR-2B
- Handle notices and coordinate with consultants
TDS Compliance
- Review TDS calculations and applicability
- Ensure timely filing of returns (24Q, 26Q, 27Q)
- Manage challans, Form 16/16A, and TRACES reconciliation
Professional Tax & Labour Laws
- Ensure compliance with PTRC and PTEC requirements
- Coordinate PF, ESIC, and payroll-related compliances
- Liaise with HR/payroll teams and consultants
- MIS, Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Lead preparation of monthly/quarterly MIS reports
- Develop dashboards and trackers using Advanced Excel
- Perform variance analysis, ratio analysis, and trend analysis
- Monitor cash flows and working capital cycles
- Deliver actionable financial insights to management and clients
- Financial Planning & Advisory
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Advise on working capital management and liquidity planning
- Drive cost optimization initiatives
- Partner with business stakeholders to improve financial performance
- Credit Appraisal & Debt Advisory
- Prepare and review CMA data, financial projections, and lender formats
- Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and banking behavior
- Draft credit appraisal notes and financial summaries
- Assist in structuring:
- Working capital facilities
- Term loans
- Structured and alternative credit solutions
- Prepare:
- Debt proposal decks
- Information Memorandums (IMs)
- Lender presentations
- Track lender interactions, approvals, and disbursements
- Stakeholder Management & Execution
- Coordinate with internal teams (credit, legal, compliance, operations)
- Liaise with clients, lenders, auditors, and consultants
- Ensure timely closure of documentation and disbursement conditions
- Maintain strong follow-ups and execution discipline
- Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management
- Monitor client financial performance and covenant compliance
- Identify early warning signals and escalate risks
- Support portfolio reviews and internal reporting
- Assist in audit and compliance checks
Required Skills & CompetenciesMandatory
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements
- Hands-on experience with Tally/ERP systems
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, dashboards)
- Practical exposure to GST, TDS, ROC, and statutory compliances
- Experience in CMA preparation and credit appraisal
- High attention to detail and strong execution discipline
Preferred
- Experience in CFO services, corporate finance, or advisory
- Understanding of banking/NBFC lending processes
- Exposure to financial modeling or credit risk frameworks
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration (Mandatory)
- CA (Qualified) / CA Inter (Preferred)
- MBA / PGDM (Finance) (Preferred)
- CFA / FRM / Financial Modeling certifications (Added advantage)
