We are building various tech tools to make finance consulting more accessible and have a dedicated team of individuals that are trained on tasks related to finance consulting and compliance management.
About the Role
The Finance Controller in the Virtual Finance Office (VFO) will act as the financial backbone and strategic partner for multiple client engagements. This role goes beyond traditional accounting and focuses on driving financial discipline, governance, insights, and decision support for clients across growth stages.
The individual will be responsible for owning end-to-end finance function delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and actionable insights while working closely with client leadership teams.

Skills & Pre-requisite:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance
- Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into business insights
- Proficiency in MIS preparation, financial modelling, and analytics
- Working knowledge of ERP systems such as Zoho, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- High attention to detail with a control-oriented mindset
- Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Client-facing confidence and advisory mindset
- Process-driven approach with focus on standardization and efficiency

Key Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end finance function for multiple client engagements under the VFO model
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of books of accounts and monthly closures
- Review financial statements, provisions, and key accounting judgments
- Drive preparation and delivery of MIS, dashboards, and management reports
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable business insights
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Monitor cash flows, working capital, and overall financial health
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements
- Coordinate and manage statutory, internal, and tax audits
- Establish and strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks
- Support clients in decision-making on pricing, cost optimization, and profitability
- Drive ERP / system implementation and process automation initiatives
- Manage client communication and act as a trusted finance partner
- Review team outputs and ensure quality and consistency in delivery
Qualifications:
- Masters in Business Administration with Finance specialization having 5–7 or CA with PQE of 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in finance, controllership, or consulting roles
- Experience in handling end-to-end accounting and finance operations.
- Exposure to client servicing or outsourced finance / VFO environments is an advantage.
- Experience in MIS, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Familiarity with statutory compliance and audit processes.
- Experience in ERP implementation or system-driven environments preferred.
