Role Summary
We are looking for a high-ownership finance champ who will own everything related to money at CraftifAI - from annual operating planning (AOP) and cash-flow management to tax, compliance, diligence readiness, and payments.
This role is not about bookkeeping alone. You will work directly with founders, act as the financial backbone of the company, and ensure that every rupee is tracked, optimized, compliant, and defensible to investors, auditors, and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning & Control
● Own AOP, quarterly budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis
● Build and maintain cash flow models, runway tracking, burn analysis
● Provide monthly MIS for founders (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
● Support strategic decisions with scenario planning (hiring, capex, fundraise timing)
2. Accounting & Bookkeeping
● Ensure accurate books (monthly, quarterly, annual close)
● Maintain general ledger, expense categorization, reconciliations
● Work with CA / accounting firms but own correctness internally
● Implement finance SOPs as the company scales
3. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
● Own GST compliance (returns, reconciliations, audits)
● Handle TDS, advance tax, income tax filings
● Ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESIC, PT, gratuity provisions, etc.)
● Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants proactively
4. Payments, Payroll & Vendor Management
● Manage salary processing, reimbursements, and payroll compliance
● Handle vendor payments, contracts, and payment cycles
● Maintain payables & receivables tracking
● Ensure zero delays, zero surprises
5. Fundraising, Diligence & Investor Support
● Prepare company for VC/angel diligence (financials, compliance, data room)
● Support term sheet analysis, SHA/SSA reviews (with legal teams)
● Track cap table, ESOP pool, vesting schedules
● Coordinate fund inflows, FDI compliance, and reporting
6. Governance & Controls
● Set up internal controls, approval workflows, and audit trails
● Ensure strong documentation and financial hygiene
● Reduce financial risk and prevent leakage
● Build systems that scale as company grows over the years
What We’re Looking For Must-Have
● Experience in startup finance / CA firm / VC-backed company
● Strong 4+ years hands-on experience in a high growth startup:
○ Budgeting & cash flow management
○ GST, direct tax, statutory compliances
○ Payroll, vendor payments, MIS
● Comfortable working in early-stage ambiguity
● Extremely detail-oriented with high integrity
Good to Have (Strong Plus)
● Prior experience handling fundraising or diligence
● Exposure to hardware / deep-tech / manufacturing / SaaS startups
● Understanding of ESOPs, cap tables, FDI compliance
● CA / MBA Finance background
