Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our finance team. This role is perfect for someone who understands the unique flow of real estate transactions and enjoys the precision of maintaining a clean general ledger. You will be responsible for the day-to-day financial health of our property portfolio, ensuring that every entry is accurate and every deadline is met.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Bookkeeping: Perform basic accounting entries, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and monthly journal entries.
- Property Accounting: Manage specialized real estate transactions, including security deposits, move-in/move-out reconciliations, and tenant billing.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple operating and escrow accounts.
- Expense Management: Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring costs are coded to the correct property and expense category.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports for property owners and stakeholders.
- Audit Support: Maintain organized digital and physical files to support year-end tax preparation and external audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in Real Estate Accounting (Commercial, Residential, or Development).
- Software Savvy: Experience with industry-standard software and advanced Excel skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot discrepancies in complex ledgers and reconcile them efficiently.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
