ABOUT THE ROLE
Legistify is looking for a Finance Controller who will own end-to-end revenue operations, collections, compliance, and financial reporting. This is a high-ownership role suited for a qualified CA who thrives in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and wants to build scalable finance processes from the ground up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue Operations & Subscription Billing
• Oversee end-to-end invoicing and subscription management for all clients
• Ensure client subscriptions, pricing, renewals, amendments, and billing details are accurately updated in Zoho and internal systems
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Success teams to ensure timely and accurate invoice generation
• Track recurring revenue cycles including monthly, quarterly, and annual subscriptions
• Monitor missed invoices, delayed billing, credit notes, prorated invoices, and billing discrepancies
Collections & Receivables Management
• Take full ownership of collections and recovery processes
• Track outstanding receivables and ensure timely follow-ups with clients
• Prepare aging reports and provide regular updates on collection status
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve payment disputes or invoice-related concerns
• Drive improvements in collection cycles and working capital efficiency
Financial Operations & Reconciliation
• Manage bookkeeping oversight and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
• Handle bank reconciliations, customer/vendor reconciliations, and revenue reconciliations
• Ensure financial data integrity across accounting systems
• Review and validate accounting entries, ledgers, and supporting documents
Compliance & Audit Coordination
• Oversee statutory and regulatory compliance tracking
• Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and compliance partners
• Maintain audit-readiness and ensure proper documentation management
• Track GST, TDS, ROC filings, and other financial compliance due dates
• Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and processes
MIS, Reporting & Financial Insights
• Prepare periodic MIS reports and financial summaries for management
• Assist leadership with revenue tracking, expense monitoring, and forecasting
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, leakages, and improvement opportunities
Process Improvement & Financial Governance
• Build and improve scalable finance processes and SOPs
• Ensure strong coordination between finance, operations, sales, and customer success
• Identify automation opportunities to improve finance workflows and reporting efficiency
• Maintain strong financial discipline and operational accountability across functions
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
• Qualified CA (Chartered Accountant) — Mandatory
• Minimum 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience in finance operations, controllership, or accounting
• Experience in a SaaS, internet, technology, or subscription-based business model will be a strong advantage
• Strong understanding of invoicing, collections, reconciliations, compliance tracking, and audit coordination
• Hands-on experience with Zoho Books / Zoho Finance or similar accounting platforms preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
• High ownership mindset with attention to detail and process orientation
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment
