Mehta Cosmetics is a New Delhi-based FMCG and personal care manufacturer with over four decades of experience in the daily care category. Under its flagship Blue Chip brand, the company manufactures and markets products including body lotions, petroleum jelly, talcum powder, lip balms, cold creams, face care and winter care products through its own manufacturing facilities.
The company serves rural and semi-urban markets across Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and adjoining regions through a distributor-led network of approximately 988 distributors and more than 33,000 retail outlets.
As the company continues to grow, we are strengthening our finance leadership and seeking an experienced Finance Controller to work directly with the promoters in driving financial excellence, business planning and long-term growth.
Role Overview
The Finance Controller will own the company's financial planning, reporting, financial controls and corporate finance function while serving as the leadership team's trusted finance partner.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for profit and loss management, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, working capital optimisation, manufacturing finance, corporate finance and strategic financial decision-making.
The role requires someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, establish robust financial discipline across the organisation and provide commercial insights that support business growth.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, helping build a finance function capable of supporting the company's next phase of expansion.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & Control
- Own company-wide Profit & Loss management.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Develop financial models supporting strategic business decisions.
- Build and strengthen financial controls, governance and reporting frameworks.
- Monitor business performance against financial objectives.
- Ensure financial discipline across departments.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage company-wide cash flow planning and liquidity.
- Drive working capital optimisation across inventory, receivables and payables.
- Forecast funding requirements ahead of production and sales cycles.
- Improve cash conversion efficiency and optimise working capital utilisation.
Manufacturing Finance
- Oversee manufacturing finance and factory-level financial controls.
- Lead product costing and profitability analysis.
- Monitor production costs and operational efficiencies.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to improve margins and cost effectiveness.
Corporate Finance
- Manage banking relationships and financing requirements.
- Support capital planning and financial structuring initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and financial governance.
- Coordinate audits and ensure timely completion of statutory filings.
Reporting & Business Partnering
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to leadership.
- Provide commercial insights to support strategic decisions.
- Identify financial risks and growth opportunities proactively.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Production and Marketing teams to align business strategy with financial objectives.
- Develop dashboards and management reporting systems for performance monitoring.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader who demonstrates complete ownership of a company's financial performance and strategic direction.
The individual should be equally comfortable building financial systems, optimising working capital, managing manufacturing finance and partnering directly with promoters and senior leadership on key business decisions.
This role is best suited for someone who has successfully led finance within a manufacturing organisation rather than an advisory or consulting environment.
Candidates with experience in FMCG, consumer goods or personal care industries will be strongly preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
- Minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in corporate finance or financial control leadership roles.
- Strong manufacturing finance background.
- Experience in product costing and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Expertise in Profit & Loss management.
- Advanced budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Working capital optimisation expertise.
- Strong cash flow management capabilities.
- Experience building financial controls and governance frameworks.
- Corporate finance experience including banking and funding.
- Strong financial analysis and commercial acumen.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, financial reporting tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with modern productivity and AI tools is preferred.
