Title: Finance Assistant

Role Overview
The Finance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day processing and reconciliation of financial transactions across reach52's India operations. This is a hands-on execution role that ensures financial records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready. The Finance Assistant works closely with the Finance Manager, who provides governance oversight and final approvals.
Key Responsibilities
Payments & Invoicing
- Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and intercompany transactions accurately and on time.
- Raise and issue invoices to clients and intercompany entities; track outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue balances.
- Verify payment requests against supporting documentation (POs, contracts, receipts) prior to submission for approval.
- Maintain the payment tracker and ensure all disbursements are recorded correctly in the accounting system.
GST Reconciliation
- Compile and reconcile GST input/output data on a monthly basis in preparation for return filing.
- Match purchase invoices against GSTR-2A/2B and flag discrepancies for resolution.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing data for GST return submissions and responding to notices.
- Maintain organized records of all GST-related documentation.
Bank Reconciliation
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across all India entity accounts.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly; escalate unresolved items to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure all bank transactions are accurately posted in the accounting system on a timely basis.
Transaction Recording & Financial Documentation
- Record and reconcile financial transactions, invoices, and payments accurately and on time.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and e-filing systems for easy retrieval and audit readiness.
- Support financial reporting by compiling and summarising data for monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- Track inventory, assets, and operational expenses for accurate reporting.
Audit & Compliance Support
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and approval workflows.
- Assist in preparing supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation packages for statutory audits and internal reviews.
- Flag any unusual transactions or process gaps to the Finance Manager.
Procurement & Asset Management
- Source and procure goods and services required by reach52 India operations; obtain quotes, raise purchase orders, and manage vendor onboarding.
- Maintain relationships with approved vendors; flag pricing anomalies or service issues to the Finance Manager.
- Maintain an accurate asset inventory register, tracking equipment, devices, and operational assets across the India team.
- Record asset additions, disposals, and transfers; ensure the register is audit-ready at all times.
- Support periodic physical verification of assets and reconcile against the register.
Administrative & Operations Support
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the finance and operations functions as needed.
- Maintain filing systems (physical and digital) for contracts, invoices, and compliance documents.
- Assist with onboarding of vendors and maintenance of vendor master data.
- Support ad hoc finance and operations tasks as directed by the Finance Manager or COO.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field (B.Com preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in a finance operations, accounts payable/receivable, or bookkeeping role, with at least 2 years in the pharmaceutical/ healthcare sector.
- Working knowledge of GST, TDS basics, and Indian bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Odoo, or similar); familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Good communication skills; able to liaise with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience in a startup or SME environment preferred.
