About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance & Accounts Manager to join our India operations team. This is a key individual contributor and leadership role responsible for end-to-end financial operations, statutory compliance, taxation, and commercial contract review. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of Indian financial regulations, GST, payroll, and cross-border remittance, and is proficient in leveraging Advanced Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Manage all aspects of direct and indirect taxation including TDS, TCS, advance tax, and corporate income tax.
- Ensure timely and accurate GST filings: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C annual returns, and reconciliation.
- Handle ITC (Input Tax Credit) reconciliation and resolve mismatches in GSTR-2A/2B.
- Liaise with tax consultants and government authorities for assessments, notices, and audits.
- Monitor regulatory changes (Income Tax Act, GST law) and proactively adapt internal processes.
2. Payroll Management
- Own end-to-end payroll processing for all India-based employees — accurate, timely, and compliant.
- Manage PF, ESI, PT, and LWF deductions, filings, and annual returns.
- Handle Form 16 issuance, payroll audits, and employee reimbursement processes.
- Coordinate with HR on onboarding, salary revisions, full-and-final settlements, and gratuity computations.
3. Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Oversee invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Monitor AR aging and drive proactive follow-ups to minimize overdue balances.
- Reconcile customer ledgers and resolve billing disputes in a timely manner.
- Prepare regular AR dashboards and present key metrics to senior management.
4. Accounts Payable (AP)
- Manage end-to-end AP cycle: vendor invoice processing, approvals, and timely payments.
- Ensure accurate TDS deductions on vendor payments and reconcile vendor ledgers.
- Oversee 3-way matching (PO, GRN, Invoice) and enforce procurement compliance.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and address payment queries.
5. Foreign Remittance & FEMA Compliance
- Handle all outward foreign remittances in compliance with FEMA, RBI guidelines, and LRS regulations.
- Prepare and submit Form 15CA / 15CB in coordination with CA for international payments.
- Ensure compliance for import/export payments, royalties, software subscriptions, and inter-company transactions.
- Maintain records for Transfer Pricing documentation and DTAA benefits, where applicable.
- Coordinate with banks for forex transactions, hedging, and rate negotiations.
6. Contract & MSA Review
- Review and provide finance input on Master Service Agreements (MSAs), vendor contracts, and NDAs.
- Identify financial risks, payment terms, penalty clauses, and tax implications in contracts.
- Work cross-functionally with Legal, Procurement, and Business Development on contract negotiations.
- Maintain a contract register and track key milestones, renewals, and obligations.
7. Financial Reporting & MIS
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Develop and maintain Advanced Excel-based MIS reports, financial models, and dashboards.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
- Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits with external auditors.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel — mandatory: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling, macros (VBA a plus).
- GST portal, Income Tax e-filing portal, TRACES, and MCA/ROC compliance tools.
- Experience with accounting software: Tally Prime, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, SAP, or Oracle Financials.
- Proficiency in generating MIS reports and financial dashboards.
Domain Knowledge
- Deep understanding of Indian tax laws: Income Tax Act, GST Act, FEMA, Companies Act 2013.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll laws: PF Act, ESI Act, Payment of Wages Act, Gratuity Act.
- Hands-on experience with foreign remittance processes and RBI/FEMA regulations.
- Ability to review and interpret commercial contracts and MSAs from a finance perspective.

- Familiarity with Transfer Pricing documentation and OECD guidelines.
- Prior exposure to ESOP taxation and equity-based compensation structures.
- Knowledge of Ind AS / IFRS reporting standards.
- Experience with ERP implementation or process automation projects.
