Role Description The Finance Account Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sangli, responsible for managing day-to-day financial and accounting activities. This includes preparing and maintaining financial statements, overseeing general ledger entries, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, GST-related documentation and compliance, and coordination with auditors and external stakeholders as required. The Finance Account Officer will also support budgeting and cost tracking, assist in monthly and annual closing processes, and ensure adherence to internal controls and statutory regulations. Collaboration with operations and management teams to provide financial insights that support decision-making is an integral part of this role.
A Finance & Accounts Officer is responsible for managing the organization's accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records.
- Record all financial transactions in ERP/Tally.
- Verify vouchers, invoices, and supporting documents.
- Ensure proper ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
2. Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices and payments.
- Verify purchase bills with Purchase Orders (PO) and Goods Receipt Notes (GRN).
- Prepare payment schedules.
- Maintain vendor ageing reports.
3. Accounts Receivable
- Generate customer invoices.
- Follow up on outstanding payments.
- Monitor customer ageing.
- Reconcile customer accounts.
4. Bank & Cash Management
- Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
- Manage cash book and petty cash.
- Monitor daily cash flow.
- Coordinate banking transactions.
5. GST & Tax Compliance
- Prepare and file GST Returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, etc.).
- Reconcile GSTR-2B with purchase records.
- Ensure TDS deduction and return filing.
- Support statutory audits and tax assessments.
6. Payroll & Employee Reimbursements
- Verify payroll data.
- Process employee reimbursements and advances.
- Coordinate salary payments with HR.
7. Financial Reporting
- Prepare:
- Monthly Profit & Loss Statement
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow Statement
- MIS Reports
- Present financial reports to management.
8. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in annual budgeting.
- Monitor departmental expenses.
- Perform variance analysis.
- Recommend cost-saving initiatives.
9. Inventory & Costing
- Verify inventory valuation.
- Coordinate physical stock verification.
- Monitor inventory movements.
- Prepare product costing reports (especially in manufacturing).
10. Audit Coordination
- Support Internal Audit.
- Support Statutory Audit.
- Maintain audit schedules and documentation.
- Ensure timely compliance with audit observations.
11. Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- Companies Act
- Income Tax Act
- GST Act
- TDS provisions
- Accounting Standards
- Maintain statutory records.
12. Documentation & Record Keeping
- Maintain financial files and records.
- Archive accounting documents.
- Ensure confidentiality of financial information.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles.
- GST, TDS, Income Tax knowledge.
- Tally ERP / Tally Prime.
- MS Excel (Advanced).
- ERP Software knowledge (SAP/Oracle/Odoo, etc.).
- Financial Analysis & MIS Reporting.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance)
- CA Inter / CMA Inter (Preferred)
- 3–8 years of relevant experience (depending on the role)
