Figr is a venture-funded, early-stage startup developing next-generation design tools to automate workflows for UI/UX designers and teams. By combining the power of AI with user-centered design, Figr aims to transform the design process - from research to ideation to prototyping.
The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Large Language Model (LLM) Engineer focused on fine-tuning and exploring LLMs for design purposes, including code generation for UI/UX. The role involves an end-to-end journey of creating data and fine-tuning open-source LLMs.

Key Responsibilities
- Quality data curation and improvement for fine-tuning LLMs. This is the key responsibility, and we are looking for an out-of-the-box thinker who can brainstorm new ideas on how to tackle data-related problems.
- Fine-tuning LLMs.
- Deploying LLMs on GPUs with minimal latency on AWS/GCP.
- Leading the current Data Science team to the next breakthrough.
Skills Needed
- Excellent communication skills, allowing seamless collaboration within our diverse team.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with PyTorch.
- Deep understanding of the Transformers architecture, its underlying components, and new SLM/LLM architectures.
- Proficiency in determining which metrics/loss functions to track for your use case.
- Experience with working on Lora, QLora, LLMs optimization techniques, and deployment strategies.
- Hands-on experience with multi-GPU training.
- Ability to implement research papers and stay updated with the latest trends that could be useful for our use case.
- Experience with Git and conducting code reviews.
