Job Summary The Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, preventive and breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment at customer sites. This role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and good customer-handling skills to ensure high-quality service. Key Responsibilities
• Install and commission commercial kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, hobs, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and exhaust systems.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per schedule.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control-related issues effectively.
• Replace and repair defective parts, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
• Attend service calls within defined turnaround time (TAT) and update the service coordinator/team lead regularly.
• Prepare accurate service reports, installation reports, and warranty claims.
• Coordinate with the spare parts team for timely part availability.
• Educate customer staff on basic equipment operation and maintenance.
• Escalate unresolved or critical issues to seniors or OEM support.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain tools and service kits in proper condition.
Qualifications
• ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Refrigeration.
• 2–5 years of experience in servicing commercial kitchen equipment or similar appliances.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, basic refrigeration, and electrical circuits.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Basic computer knowledge for CRM and service reporting.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively for field service.
Preferred • Experience with brands like Rational, Henny Penny, Hobart, Electrolux, etc. • Knowledge of PLC-based or IoT-enabled kitchen equipment.
