A Retail Fuel Engineer is a field technician-engineer who ensures petrol pumps operate safely, accurately, and continuously through maintenance, calibration, and breakdown repair of dispensing and automation systems.
- Service and maintain fuel dispensing units (petrol and diesel pumps) at retail fuel stations.
- Troubleshoot dispenser issues such as nozzle failure, flow errors, display faults, and motor/pump breakdowns.
- Perform calibration of fuel dispensers to ensure accurate measurement as per Legal Metrology standards.
- Inspect underground storage tanks (UST) for leakage, water contamination, and pressure irregularities.
- Maintain pipeline systems connecting storage tanks to dispensers and ensure proper fuel flow.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in dispenser panels, controllers, and power supply systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot automation systems such as POS billing systems and ATG (tank gauging systems).
- Ensure compliance with petroleum safety standards (fire safety, hazardous zone rules, emergency shutdown systems).
- Attend breakdown calls at petrol pumps and restore operations within minimum downtime.
- Perform preventive maintenance visits on scheduled basis (monthly/quarterly).
- Replace faulty spare parts and coordinate with service centers or OEM suppliers when required.
- Maintain service reports, calibration records, and maintenance logs for each petrol pump.
- Coordinate with petrol pump dealers/operators for operational and technical issues.
- Follow safety protocols strictly while working in fuel-handling hazardous environments.
- Travel within assigned service area (Mudhol and nearby regions) for site visits and support.
