JOB SUMMARY
The Service Engineer is responsible for installation, commissioning, and servicing of industrial automation systems including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and VFD. The role involves technical planning, material management for refurbished and repaired equipment, control panel design and wiring, and maintaining strong customer relationships — both on-site and off-site. The engineer also supports upselling by identifying and fulfilling additional customer requirements.

Providing Service
– Installation and commissioning of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and VFD systems
– On-site and remote troubleshooting and breakdown support
– Timely resolution of service calls within defined SLA
– Accuracy and quality of installation and service delivery

Technical Planning
– Planning all installations, services, and maintenance schedules
– Regular follow-up with site managers and maintenance staff
– Adherence to technical plans and timelines
– Zero unplanned downtime due to poor planning

Material Management (Refurbished & Repair)
– Checking and documenting condition of incoming material
– Repairing faulty components and modules to working condition
– Assembling repaired or refurbished units as required
– Assisting in dispatch of repaired material — accuracy and timeliness

Panel Designing
– Designing, wiring, and executing control panels as per client requirements
– Ensuring compliance with standards and technical specifications
– Quality of panel design and zero rework incidents
– Timely completion of panel fabrication and delivery

Customer Relationship Management
– Getting requirements from customers within defined timelines
– Achieving high customer satisfaction — on-site and off-site
– Prompt response to customer queries and escalations
– Customer feedback score and repeat service rate

Upselling
– Identifying upselling opportunities during service visits
– Sending quotations to existing customers for current and future needs
– Number of upsell quotations sent per month
– Conversion rate of upsell enquiries to orders
Education
▸ BE / B.Tech – Electrical / Electronics
▸ Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation
▸ ITI in Electrician / Electronics trade
▸ Equivalent technical qualification considered
Experience
▸ 1–4 years in industrial automation service
▸ Hands-on PLC / HMI / SCADA / VFD field work
▸ Experience in panel wiring and fabrication
▸ Exposure to repair and refurbishment of components
