Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Field Service Engineer role based in Jamshedpur. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining IT hardware and related infrastructure at client locations. Daily tasks include diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring minimal downtime for end users. The role involves coordinating with the central support team, documenting service activities, and following defined service-level agreements and processes. The Field Service Engineer will also interact regularly with customers, providing clear updates, training where needed, and ensuring a professional and reliable support experience.
Qualifications
- Strong field service capabilities, including on-site installation, configuration, and support of IT equipment and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, basic networking, and common end-user issues.
- Experience with preventive maintenance activities, including regular health checks, updates, and performance monitoring of systems.
- Customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain positive client relationships.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage time effectively, and follow documented processes and safety standards.
- Willingness to travel within the region as required and to work in shifts or extended hours when necessary.
- Prior experience in IT field support or infrastructure maintenance, preferably in banking, corporate, or similar environments, is an advantage.
