Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Field Service Engineer role based in Datia. The Field Service Engineer will install, commission, and maintain Okaya power and solar products at customer sites, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Responsibilities include diagnosing technical issues, performing repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and calibrating equipment in line with company standards. The role also involves providing technical support to customers, documenting service activities, preparing reports, and coordinating with the service and sales teams for timely resolution of field concerns. The Field Service Engineer will follow all safety protocols, participate in training on new technologies, and contribute feedback to improve product performance and service processes.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in electrical and electronics engineering, including installation, testing, and troubleshooting of batteries, inverters, and solar systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and product manuals, with practical hands-on experience in field service or maintenance.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills for diagnosing faults, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Customer service and communication skills to explain technical information clearly, manage on-site interactions, and provide professional support.
- Competence in basic documentation, reporting, and use of digital tools or service management software for recording service activities.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- Willingness to travel locally within Datia and nearby regions, and to work in field conditions as required.
- Knowledge of safety standards, PPE usage, and best practices for working with electrical and solar equipment; prior experience in the power or renewable energy sector is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
