Job Title: Field Service Engineer – SPM and OSAT Equipment
Location: Pan India
Department: Customer Support / Field Engineering
Reports To: Service Manager / Technical Operations Head

Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to lead the installation, commissioning, and technical support of Special Purpose Machines and semiconductor assembly/test equipment at customer sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in precision machine setup, process validation, and customer interaction across diverse industrial environments including OSAT facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, alignment, and commissioning of Special Purpose Machines and semiconductor equipment (e.g., test handlers, die bonders, wire bonders, vision inspection systems)
- Conduct functional testing, calibration, and process optimization to meet customer specifications
- Interface with customer engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration of machines into existing lines
- Provide technical training to customer personnel on machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues during and after installation
- Maintain detailed service documentation including installation reports, feedback logs, and preventive maintenance records
- Ensure adherence to cleanroom protocols, ESD safety, and industry-specific standards during OSAT deployments
- Support remote diagnostics, upgrades, and field retrofits as required
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in field service or equipment installation for automation systems, SPMs, or semiconductor equipment
- Strong understanding of OSAT processes including wafer handling, packaging, and test operations
- Hands-on experience with high-precision machines involving pneumatics, servo systems, robotics, and vision systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC/HMI interfaces
- Familiarity with cleanroom practices and semiconductor safety protocols
- Excellent communication, customer-handling, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel extensively for domestic and international installations
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline
- OEM training or certification in semiconductor or automation equipment (preferred but not mandatory)
Preferred
- Experience with robotic integration, machine vision inspection, and Industry 4.0 connectivity
- Prior exposure to SPMs used in electronics, automotive, or semiconductor packaging lines
- Background in supporting Tier-1 OSATs or semiconductor OEMs
