About Project
Project Shuddhi focuses on strengthening decentralised solid waste management systems in the peri-urban villages of Sulur Taluk. The project aims to improve household waste segregation, establish community-based organic waste processing systems and strengthen Panchayat waste management capacity.
Position Summary
The role involves engaging with households, sanitation workers, Panchayat representatives, and other stakeholders to promote waste segregation, support awareness campaigns, conduct surveys, and monitor project implementation at the village level. This role would require travelling to the project location, so apply if you have a two-wheeler and a valid driving license.
Key Responsibilities
Community Mobilisation & Awareness
- Conduct door-to-door awareness campaigns.
- Mobilise households to adopt segregation system.
- Engage village volunteers and community leaders in project activities.
Baseline Surveys & Data Collection
- Conduct household surveys and beneficiary assessments.
- Support Garbage Vulnerable Point identification and mapping exercises.
- Collect and maintain data using mobile apps or Google Forms.
Volunteer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and mobilise local youth volunteers.
- Coordinate with panchayat/municipality and waste collectors.
- Facilitate meetings with Panchayat representatives and local institutions.
Event & Training Coordination
- Assist in organising training programs for sanitation workers, volunteers, and community groups.
- Support logistics and arrangements for Aerobin installation, project events and stakeholder meetings.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain attendance records and beneficiary databases.
- Capture photographs, testimonials, and success stories.
- Support preparation of weekly and monthly project reports.
Qualifications
- Skills Required
- Should be familiar in Tamil
- Should have a two-wheeler & a valid driving licence.
- Basic smartphone and digital data collection skills.
Compensation
Salary: 15,000/month & TA
